Mud Bath

I took this picture last year on the 4th of July.  My oldest son and his cousins found a mud puddle and decided to paint themselves and bathe in it.  They would get themselves full of mud and then run to the lake side chanting “let’s get clean, let’s get clean” and jumped off the dock into the lake.  Then they ran pack to the the muddle puddle saying “let’s do it again, let’s do it again”.  We all had so much fun watching them do this for about an hour.  Anyhow :), here is a layout that I did of  my son(I am working on the rest of the photos from this fun-filled weekend).  I put it on two challenges: The Pink Elephant scrapbook #9 -summer theme and Little Red Wagon #31-altered embellishment.  I inked the white floss with butterscotch ColorBox chalk.  Thanks fo looking.  I have some more posts to share with you hopefully later :)

EA Thank You’s

For Teacher appreciation at our school we don’t do teacher appreciation but rather staff appreciation because it takes everyone to make our school a school family like it is.  So I whipped up these little baskets of goodies for the educati0n assistants in my room.  It’s a little ceramic dish with lotion and hand sanitizer from Bath & Body, Hershey’s nuggets with labels on them that are the same as the tag.  Sorry, the photo is a bit dark :( img_9171.JPG

Supplies: ribbon-the Paper Studio, twine-PTI, Colorbox chalk lime green ink, StazOn jet black ink, sentiment-studio g, apple-K&Company: Carolyn Gavin greenhouse stamps and ink, punch-EK

Happy 21st Birthday Jackie!

My cousin turned 21 and this is a little survival kit I made her.  It’s full of things that she can use anytime.  The yellow paper tells her what it is all for.

Here’s a close up of the tag that;s hanging on the bucket.  The stamp is Studio G ($1 set that I picked up a year or to ago…St. Patrick’s Day theme).  Brad is spare parts by the paper studio.  I used DMC floss to tie the tag to the bucket.  All the paper was from HL out of my scrap box.  The tag is from the scalloped tag combo set #2 by Sizzix.  The punch border is Martha Stewart.  I colored the image with Sharpies.

Feel Well Soon

My aunt had surgery and this was a little treat we brought her.  I re-used a peanut butter jar and filled it with mini candy bars.  The dot paper was in my scrap box (I know it came from HL…thinks it’s paper studio).  The button is paper studio and twine is PTI. The scallop circle was done with Nestabilities large scalloped circles.  The ovals were done with Creative Memories oval cutter.  Image is American Crafts clear stamps sentiments.  I stamped the image twice.

A friend of mine had her daughter in the hospital for several days as they were trying to figure out was making her so sick.  This is a little care package I made for her.  It’s filled with a variety of her favorite chocolates.  The tin I re-used, it once had chocolate pretzel balls in it.  Paper is all the same from the above project.  Stamp is from Inkadinkado. Felt flower, brad and ribbon in stash.  Nestabilities large scalloped squares.  The cream tag was done with Sizzix tags, scallop combo #2.

The card was tucked inside the box, I used up scraps for this too.  The stamp  is Kolette Hall got Studio G.

Thanks for looking.  I hope your weather is better than ours.  We have ran which is freezing can causing accidents all around town.  Maybe it will help melt the snow as we warm up today!  I don’t know about you but I am ready for spring and green grass to play in :)

Happy Veterans Day

Here are 101 cards that I made for Veterans Day.  One is for my dad and the rest we dropped off at the Volunteer office at the VA hospital. These are altered scraplings that I found at Splitcoaststampers.  I have been wanting to make these scraplings since the challenge was posted a few months back.  I call them altered because on the challenge the finished size is 1.5×4 inches I believe.  These have a finished size of 2×4.25.  I had a lot of fun making these.  I used Michelle’s advice over at Mish Mash (link on my sidebar).  She is always showing how she preps everything first and then starts assembling cards.  Wow does it make it seem to go faster that way than creating one at a time.  I did the first batch of 50 on Sunday and then worked on the last 50 last night and this morning.

Trick or Treat

Here is a card I made in honor of National Card Making Day.  We have been busy around here today so my plans for doing nothing but making cards was scratched.  But…I plan on doing some card making tomorrow.  I am hoping to complete all four challenges over at Nichole’s blog (Capture the Moment on my side bar) with Papertrey Ink. The sketch is from Caardvarks Saturday Sketchfest sketch found here  http://caardvarks.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html.    I will have to list all the supplies when I get back tonight.  I wanted to share at least on card today so here it is.img_7243.JPG

Baby Thank You set

So here is a little project I worked on last weekend.  My sister’s friend is expecting a baby and they don’t know what they are having so it needed to stay neutral.  The nursery is done in mint greens and browns so that is where the inspiration for the colors came from.   Her baby shower was yesterday and this was part of the gift for her.   All the cs is from HL in there single sheet selections.  The brown is textured cs.  The mint green I embossed with vanilla ZING! embossing powder.  The dots are from MS clear backgrounds set (can you tell I like this stamp :).  The giraffe is from imaginisce and was colored with chalks.  I cut the circles using my creative memories circle cutting system.  The ribbons are by the paper studio, they came from Hobby Lobby too.  The sentiment has no company name on it.  I picked it up years ago at my local Scrapbook store when they were having a stamp swap.  The box I made for the cards only uses one piece of 12×12 paper.  The box holds 8 cards and 8 matching envelopes.  I used magnets for the closure on the box.  Thanks for looking.img_7152.JPGimg_7159.JPG

Ghosts & goblins

Good afternoon everyone, today I have a card that covers three challenges.  I used Sweet Sundays sketch (sssc36).  The Belli challenge at Pile It On is to make a card with a Halloween theme.  At at SCS Friday’s LSC238 challenge was to use spooky colors on your card.  I know I said I was going to make birthday cards for the challenges, but I couldn’t resist making this card for these three challenges.  I fixed my comment box so now anyone can leave a comment.  I’d like to hear what you think.  Have a great Sunday.
