EA Thank You’s

For Teacher appreciation at our school we don’t do teacher appreciation but rather staff appreciation because it takes everyone to make our school a school family like it is.  So I whipped up these little baskets of goodies for the educati0n assistants in my room.  It’s a little ceramic dish with lotion and hand sanitizer from Bath & Body, Hershey’s nuggets with labels on them that are the same as the tag.  Sorry, the photo is a bit dark :( img_9171.JPG

Supplies: ribbon-the Paper Studio, twine-PTI, Colorbox chalk lime green ink, StazOn jet black ink, sentiment-studio g, apple-K&Company: Carolyn Gavin greenhouse stamps and ink, punch-EK

Happy Birthday Tanner!

We celebrated my boys’ birthdays a few weekends back.  Tanner got several Buzz Lightyear toys and was very excited about them.  Since is birthday was after the big family celebration he wanted cupcakes that were like Buzz Lightyear.  Not owning any (or knowing that they were out there because I just saw some last week) I pulled out my Technique Tuesday Rocket Man set.  I showed him the little alien guy and he loved it!  We baked up some vanilla cupcakes and whipped up a batch of icing and created this little guys.  I didn’t mix the blue food coloring in all the way so that it would have that galaxy feeling and then we sprinkled Wiltons’ White Sparkling Sugar sprinkles and blue sprinkles on to for added affect.  I stamped the image in StazOn jet black ink and then colored it in with markers, then punch them out with my circle punch.  Next I put Scor-Tape on the inside of two circle punches and sandwiched a toothpick in between them.  Then we stuck them into the cupcake and brought them to school for snack on his birthday.  I am so happy with how they turned out as was the birthday boy :)  These little toothpick cupcake toppers are so fast and easy to make too.  I have done them for several years now.

Here’s a little close up of the cupcakes.

Congratulations Kelsey

My sister-in-law graduated from high school yesterday.  My mother called me up and asked to make a card basket for her open house.  Here’s what I came up with.  I was so happy to have the car image from PTI because I think it turned out super cute.  I love you the rhinestones turned out on the head lights too.  There is a close up of the tag after this picture.

Birthdays

This is the package I made for my sister-in-law’s birthday.  I have used up all of my birthday papers and am using only this brown craft paper.  I love being able to create the design of the paper.  I also figure that when this is gone I can start using brown paper bags from the store as another way to recycle them.

Sorry these images are small and that the red one is sideways.  My camera settings were switched to low quality for a post we put on Craig’s List…and they weren’t put back!  So I have almost 300 pictures of poor quality…so bummed.  Any way, the first one is a package I decorated for my nephew’s birthday.  The second one is a card for a co-worker.  I made one with this same image for my mom but didn’t get a picture of it :(  I colored the image in with a Copic…just starting buying these and all I can say is WOW…what a marker.

Happy Veterans Day

Here are 101 cards that I made for Veterans Day.  One is for my dad and the rest we dropped off at the Volunteer office at the VA hospital. These are altered scraplings that I found at Splitcoaststampers.  I have been wanting to make these scraplings since the challenge was posted a few months back.  I call them altered because on the challenge the finished size is 1.5×4 inches I believe.  These have a finished size of 2×4.25.  I had a lot of fun making these.  I used Michelle’s advice over at Mish Mash (link on my sidebar).  She is always showing how she preps everything first and then starts assembling cards.  Wow does it make it seem to go faster that way than creating one at a time.  I did the first batch of 50 on Sunday and then worked on the last 50 last night and this morning.

pp is by the Paper Studio picked up at HL, star punch I got out of a dollar bin…don’t remember where, the star border was made with my new edge punch from MS, the blue star paper is half of a 1 3/4″ circle punch, the sentiment is from Studio g, and I used Stazon jet black ink

Merry Christmas Noah!

Sorry I have been away for so long…don’t worry I have been crafting, just no time to blog about it :(   I am hoping to get everything updated by tomorrow night and then keep up with it!  I made this card last night and wanted to get it up to share with you.  This card is for a little boy who is losing his 2 year battle to cancer.  His wish was to celebrate Christmas and get as many Christmas cards as he can before he goes to heaven.  Here is the link       http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/21522646/detail.html                            where you can read his story and get the address to send him a card.  This is the Friday Limited Supplies challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  Please find the time time to get a card to him whether you make it or buy it.

In the eyes of children we find the joy of Christmas.  In their hearts we find its meaning.  ~Leland Thomas

A Couple of Midnight Projects

So I worked on these little gifts until midnight.  I had fun with them.  There is one more project I want to do but my creative flow was slowing down.  Maybe tonight I will get to it!  The first one up is for my little sister.  She is in town today for work and I will see her tonight for Girls’ Night Out…love these nights and they only come around once a month.  Anyway, this project is over at Stamps and Smiles for project Tuesday http://sasprojecttuesday.blogspot.com/.  I used pp from the Paper Studio (currently at HL), solid paper is from the paper pack Trick or Treat by The paper company.  Black grosgrain ribbon was in my stash and the BOO! ribbon I just picked up at HL and it says Halloween crafts on it and is made by HL????  The ghosts and goblins stamp is by katie & co. for studio g.  The jar is filled with graham cracker crumbs, ghost peeps and Halloween colored m&m’s.  The baking directions are glued onto the bottom of the jar as I did not want a tag hanging from the jar.  Make sure to head over t Project Tuesday for all the directions on this fun little number.img_7240.JPGimg_7238.JPG

Up next is a little comfort cup for my principal.  SHe was out sick yesterday and I thought she could use a little cheering up.  The cup is from The Dollar Tree.  I filled it with travel Kleenex, hand sanitizer, chapstick, a little chocolate :) and some honey vanilla chamomile tea.  The card is 3×3.  The images are all from Papertrey Ink, on my couch set.  The ribbon was in my stash (I know it came from the $1 bins at Michael’s awhile ago).  The button is from bag o’ buttons from the paper studio.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Thursday.  It looks like it’s going to be wet and cold here today.

Ghosts & goblins

Good afternoon everyone, today I have a card that covers three challenges.  I used Sweet Sundays sketch (sssc36).  The Belli challenge at Pile It On is to make a card with a Halloween theme.  At at SCS Friday’s LSC238 challenge was to use spooky colors on your card.  I know I said I was going to make birthday cards for the challenges, but I couldn’t resist making this card for these three challenges.  I fixed my comment box so now anyone can leave a comment.  I’d like to hear what you think.  Have a great Sunday.
