Ok, so I have seen Dawn McVey build these flowers from paper punches and have been wanting to try them for months. I finally tried it out and I had so much fun making the yellow one that I decided to make 5 more in different colors. I am always in need of birthday cards and thought it would be nice to have some on hand when I don’t have time to make them. I think I might make up a bunch of the flowers to have on hand to make card making go a bit faster too. These would be perfect to make while watching Greys Anatomy
This is the first one I made. I used my EK success punches 1 3/4, 1 1/2, 1 1/4 and 1″ circle punches. I inked the edges in a darker shade of yellow and then crumpled them up and unfolded them. I glued the circles together and added a button with PTI twine for the center. The border punch is Martha Stewart and the leaves are Stampendous - Sunny Flowers that I stamped and cut out. Sentiment is TCP Studio-Greetings.
Here’s a close up of the flower. Makes me think of spring!
Here’s another set of cards I made to have on hand. I needed three and didn’t have much time so I made about 10 of these since they were quick and I really liked how they turned out. I used box of dots by Hero Arts and the sentiment is the same as above.
Here’s some masculine birthday cards I made to keep on hand. I gave one to my 15 year old cousin and one to a co-worker. Again clean and simple and very happy with the look. I used Hero arts- snippets and the sentiment is also Hero arts- for him.
Here’s a card I made for my cousin’s daughter. The sketch was from the pink elephant challenge from last week. Image is imaginisce and paper was in my stash. Rhinestone from Queen and company.
Well that’s all for now. What did you think? I’d love to read your comments. Thanks for looking and enjoy your Saturday!

This is the package I made for my sister-in-law’s birthday. I have used up all of my birthday papers and am using only this brown craft paper. I love being able to create the design of the paper. I also figure that when this is gone I can start using brown paper bags from the store as another way to recycle them.
Sorry these images are small and that the red one is sideways. My camera settings were switched to low quality for a post we put on Craig’s List…and they weren’t put back! So I have almost 300 pictures of poor quality…so bummed. Any way, the first one is a package I decorated for my nephew’s birthday. The second one is a card for a co-worker. I made one with this same image for my mom but didn’t get a picture of it :( I colored the image in with a Copic…just starting buying these and all I can say is WOW…what a marker.

Here is a gift bag and notebook that I altered for my niece for her birthday. I also made this little 3×3 card. The bag is a lunch bag that I cut down with my cutterpede scallop edged blade. I also stamped the tissue paper with ColorBox chalk rouge ink and the castle stamp. The images are all by imaginisce- fairest of them all collection-carriage, crown and castle. I used Stazon jet black ink. The little images on the altered notebook along with the letters are from EK Success- DSP001 Princess ABC (Disney). Ribbon is from the Paper Studio. Rhinestones are by Queen & Co.

Well, things didn’t go as planned. I only got one card made yesterday. It’s a birthday card for a co-worker whose birthday was this weekend. I had lost my mojo and I think it’s because I have been still using my summer colored papers. When I was digging in my stash and came across these, I started getting it back! This sketch was from last weeks 2sketches for you #36. I am very happy with the way this card turned out. Thanks for looking.
Supplies: cs was from a pack that was in my stash…came from Michael’s. Image is $1.00 set from studio g, pp was in the stash and it’s from We R memory makers- country flowers, twine from Papertrey Ink, button was in my stash, ink is Colorbox petal point alchemy. I used my 1 3/4 circle punch and 2 5/16 scallop punch.

Here is a birthday card that I made for our school librarian. I took a picture with the chocolate nuggets that I give out with each card. The bird image is from the set birds galore by inkadinkado. The ribbon was in my stash. I think I picked it up from Michaels. I used colorbox chalk ink. The bird is lipstick red and the edging is blue iris.
I just stamp the Happy Birthday image on an address label and wrap it around a nugget of chocolate. Who wouldn’t want to get to pieces of chocolate on their birthday?
The birthday stamp is a clear $1 set from Studio g (Kolette Hall series 24).

Here is the card I made for the PPA8. I also made it for a co-worker for her birthday. I have made it my personal goal to make a birthday card for every co-worker in our school. I started in September and I think we have had 10 or so birthdays. I need several for October too. I have decided that whenever I participate in a challenge I will make a birthday card so hopefully I will have a stash built up again. Plus, then I have to participate since the card is needed for work, right…:) The purple background paper was in my stash. I got it several years ago in one of the paper stacks for Christmas. The flower like image is from a newer set of my by American Craft-clear stamp sentiments, which I am loving! I stamped it several times across the white cs. Our local HL is carrying them and there are several more sets that I wouldn’t mind picking up. I stamped the image with Colorbox chalk wisteria. It’s a petal point set, primary pastels. The butterfly is from my bridgeport set by s.e.i. I stamped the solid butterfly in blue and the detailed butterfly in the same purple again. The blue is from Colorbox Paintbox chalk- ocean breeze and the color is ice blue. The ribbon came from HL in their floral section. I used my corner rounder for the white cs. Then I used my 1 7/16 scallop punch on the purple cs from HL and my 1 1/4 circle punch on the butterfly. This was a very quick and easy card to make. What do you think, I ‘d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for looking and have a great Saturday.

Good morning all,
Here is the birthday card I made for my mother-in-law last night. I have been wanting to use the ESS52 sketch and finally did! The card also meets the Color Challenge 236 on SCS which are pretty in pink, soft suede and whisper white. The third challenge is for ssnotime105. You can only stamp your image in black or brown ink…no color. I used Colorbox chalk chestnut roan. THe image is from Inkadinkado- Stamp it, girlfriend. I used white and pink cs along with the pp that was in my scrap box. The ribbon is from American crafts. The brad was also in my stash of goodies. The inside sentiment is from Printworks-clearly defined.
