Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-faire

img_6004.JPG

challenge 5.  for this challenge we had to use a solid image to make a faux border.  I used a star to make the border.  I thought it looked like a banner so I grabbed a cupcake stamp and birthday wishes stamp.  This was a very fun challenge and I can’t wait to find more solid images to see what other borders can be created.  Images are Studio G, star is inkadinkado, inks are colorbox chalk.

challenge 4.  this was a color challenge asnd I love how this card turned out.  I made this for my husbands company.  We have been at the water park all day for the anual employee picnic.  We got home at 7:30, which is 8:30 when it comes to Papertrey Ink challenges.  I ran out of time to complete them all, but plan on still making cards for the ones I didn’t get too.  I encourage you to go over to Nichole’s blog and have a look.  They had some fun challenges today.  This is the thank you card I made for the company.

challenge 2.  we had to use hot pink and charcoal…which was a little out of my element as I don’t do a lot of pink.  The card looks better in person…lighting was difficult to get a good picture.  I didn’t have any charcoal grey paper so I cut down white cs and stamped it with my charcoal colorbox chalk ink pad.  The inside is stamped with “you brighten my day”.

challenge 3.  This challenge called for punching a window in your card and tying ribbon or twine from it.  I decided to run the cover through an embossing folder first, then punched the circle.  I traced the circle in pencil very lightly so I couls see where to stamp my image.

Make it Monday #20

Here is the card I did for Make it Monday over on Nichole’s blog for PTI.  I had lots of fun with this technique and will definitely be using ot more often.  I used On My Couch and On My Couch Additions from PTI.  The designs on the chairs were done with images from BoBunny Jazmyne that I picked up at the local scrapbook store.  I used the following Colorbox Chalk cat’s eyes inks: mint, celadon, apple green, fresh green, moss green, and olive along with Stazon Jet black.  The inside as a white layer with an image stamped on it as well as the envie.  You can see another card I made using the chair from On My Couch and the same technique here.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great Saturday.  This isn’t the best picture either.  It’s a 3×6 card.  I got the idea for the card size from card a la carte.  It’s a very fun size to play with, give it a try!

PTI Blog Hop

Hello all!  Today I sat down and created this card for the PTI inspiration blog hop.  I just love this photo.  I decided to go with the On My Couch set.  I have been using Erin Lincoln’s reverse masking technique that was shared for this weeks Make It Monday #20.  I have been having so much fun with it!  If you have not played around with this technique, you have to give it a try!  I have do reverse masking in the past but have never added another image to an image in this way before.  So quick and fun!  I did each chair on the card using this technique.  The bottom chair is cut out and adhered to the top of one that was stamped under it (I messed up that chair and didn’t want to scrap the whole card since that was the last chair to be done so I decided to “hide” the mistake instead ;)  The sentiment is from On My Couch Additions. This is one of the first sets I got from PTI and I just love it.  The thread is DMC 327. I used black csw for the base with the white layer on the outside and inside of the card. On the inside I stamped the image that’s on the bottom chair in that same color.  I did the same on the envelope. I like to stamp a little something on the inside of my cards as well as the envelopes. I think it gives them a little ’sneak peak’ when done on the envie :) The masking was done with images from the BoBunny Jazmyne set.  I used the following inks from Colorbox Chalk Eyes: ice blue, french blue, ice jade, aquamarine, wisteria and warm violet and stazon jet black.  Make sure you stop by Nichole’s blog to check out the blog hop if you haven’t already.

Sorry the picture is a bit dark.  It’s been cloudy here and this was the best one I took.

Memorial Day

This is the card that I made for all the Veteran’s at our local VA hospital.  It tends to average around 100 patients so I always make 101 cards.  One card is for my dad who is a vet and likes having a card to keep.  I am currently working on cards for them for the fourth of July.  I have the design down…just need to cut 101 cards and punch 101 stars and then start assembling them.  I will post a picture of that this upcoming week.  Do you do anything for the vets or soldiers?  I’d love to see what you create or hear about it in my comments section.  If you have a blog or gallery feel free to leave a link.  Enjoy your Saturday!

April Creations

First up are some goodies I made for my birthday peeps.  Two gals have the same birthday as me at the school I work at.  I made them these little stands, mini cupcakes and card for our special day.  The inside of the card said ‘big wishes to my birthday peeps’.  I had just gotten this stamp and loved it! You will see I used it again for Easter.  I got the idea from the tomkat studio.  They were inexpensive, fast and fun to make.  I will be making more of them.

This is a card I made for my nephew who turned 1!

Next are some easter goodie bags and tags for my nieces and nephews.  I cut the tip of the pins off after I had them tread through the bag and tag. I used Stazon pumpkin ink to stamp the dots onto the lunch sack. The tag was cut with my Sizzix Tags, Scallop combo #2 and my Epic 6.

And of course some Mickey Mouse cupcake toppers for Gaven’s birthday!  He loves Mickey Mouse (right now he’s in to Yogi the Bear).  I used my Mickey punch and a circle punch to create these.  I typed up and printed the words on my computer.  I cut them apart, stamped them with some blue circles and attached them to the red circle ( 1 3/4 inch punch), layered the Mickey head and then adhered them to a toothpick.  The tooth pick is sandwiched between this and another red circle on the back.  The punches came from Hobby Lobby.   I made a fun birthday banner to but can’t figure out where the picture went….

Updating…

Boy, maybe I should program updating my blog into my phone once a week…I wonder if it’d get done then ;)  I have no idea where the school year went!  I blinked and it was over.  I have been busy with various crafts though and can’t wait to share them.  You may want to grab a pop or cup of coffee because it will be a long one…or maybe lots of short ones, we’ll see :)  I thought I’d go month by month.

First up is March: Here is a little birthday card and goodie basket I whipped up for one of our secretaries…she celebrated a big birthday this year!

Below is a set of note cards I made for a teacher at my son’s school who was moving.  I made one for her in the same layout but switched the sentiment to ‘Good Luck’.

Next up are my St. Patrick’s day projects. I sewed the boys these hats for the special day…they loved them and reported that they “didn’t get pinched today mom”! We had a delicious traditional supper…reubens, waffle fries and shamrock shakes. Good thing that only happens once a year :) I made these little decorations. I got the idea from here still searching for it…so need to get things organized!
